900 meters above Queenstown

This morning I ventured off to the Queenstown Hill trek. After climbing over 500 meters to the summit, the view was just as beautiful as I had hoped. I stood in the middle of a 360 degree view of the surrounding areas with the town of Queenstown bordering the lake below. Unfortunately, the weather drastically changed almost immediately once I reached the top. The fierce winds and commencing rain prematurely forced me back down the hill, but I was glad I got to spend a peaceful afternoon outside before returning to the hostel to spend the rest of the day avoiding the weather.

I am now blogging in common room and watching the Kiwis play USA in rugby. Since when does the states have a rugby team?! The game looks pretty close. If we take the lead again, it might be interesting to watch the rest of the match at a local pub…
