Thanks, Jamie!

After a drinking an entire bottle of Australian chardonnay with dinner at the hostel last night, I felt mildly uninspired to post amusing thoughts on yesterday’s blog. So today, I feel somewhat obligated to think of something interesting to say. I make no promises…

I had the great pleasure of meeting a dear friend of Jamie Senior today. Kelly met me at the hostel and we spent the afternoon chit chatting and sightseeing. Between the gondola ride overlooking Queenstown, a tour of Arrowtown, a visit to the AJ Hackett bungy site (no, I haven’t jumped here yet), and a drive up a steep and winding road to a spectacular lookout, she was quite the tour guide! These pictures were taken at the the lookout and bungy site respectively.

It is always so refreshing to meet someone who is as passionate about traveling as I am, and getting to know Kelly was no different. I don’t think I will ever tire of hearing other people’s stories of different experiences abroad. Our mutual friend, Jamie, was such an inspiration and helped me find the courage to travel abroad by myself. I am grateful for that final kick in the butt I needed to get down here. My only regret is that I didn’t come sooner.
