A group of 24 of us rented a beach house in the Mornington Peninsula that overlooked the beautiful beach in Dromana. We passed the weekend with pool parties, large family style dinners and catching up over beers at the local brewery. On Sunday, we visited Cape Schanck and wandered around the natural rock pools. If you visit at low tide, you can jump in for a swim! This quickly became my new favorite place to visit in the Mornington Peninsula, and I cannot wait to return. Since this weekend was more of a friend’s getaway, I decided to share our experience through my first photo blog. Here are some of my favorite pictures from our time spent in Dromana.

We enjoyed a nice afternoon at St. Andrew’s, a former horse training facility turned beach brewery. Go for the horse stables converted into private booths and their Box 54 golden ale!Although modest in size, iconic beach huts like these are prime real estate complete with a hefty price tag. A nearby bathing box in Dromona wired with electricity and newly refurbished recently sold for $300,000 AUD!The Cape Schanck Lighthouse located on the southernmost point of the Mornington Peninsula was the second coastal lighthouse built in the state of Victoria. Did you know that lighthouses are painted differently so that navigators can differentiate them during the day?Not far from the Cape Schanck Lighthouse stands Pulpit Rock. A downhill boardwalk leads you to the rocky shoreline that was created millions of years ago from volcanic activity. If you visit at low tide, it’s a stunning place to explore the small rock pools and resident sea critters.
I could have spent all day here, but the tide was kicking us out and my SPF 50 was wearing off… Until next time, Cape Schanck!
